2026 safety framework Welfare first Minors with consent

The rules are intended to be easy to understand and not unnecessarily harsh. Safety, animal welfare and fair participation remain non-negotiable.

Participation information

The essential foundations.

This is the currently intended safety framework. It becomes binding after organizer, veterinary, insurance and venue approval and publication of the participation terms.

People

Age & supervision

Minimum age 6.
Ages 6–9: guardian accompanies the full child course.
Ages 10–13: guardian remains in the controlled child area.
Ages 14–17: guardian consent, registration and a guardian who can be reached during the event.
No timed dog class below age 14.

Dogs

Ready to start

Minimum age 18 months on event day.
Microchip, vaccination status and liability evidence.
No ill, lame, recently operated, heavily pregnant or nursing dogs.
The veterinarian has final authority over fitness to start.
All dogs remain leashed throughout the venue.

Equipment

Connected safely

Suitable pulling harness for dog starts.
Shock-absorbing line, approximately 1.5–2.5 m extended.
Runner belt at least 7 cm wide over the spine.
No retractable, choke, prong or electronic collars.
No line attached to the collar.

Conduct

Respect on course

Passing is announced and carried out with space.
Instructions from marshals, medical and veterinary teams apply immediately.
Never pull, pressure or force a dog.
Bypasses may be used without time penalty.
Unsafe or disrespectful conduct may end a start.

Planned weather standard

Start only when conditions fit.

Temperature and humidity are continuously measured in shade near dog level. From 18°C, the veterinary team and race director document whether to shorten, delay or cancel. At 25°C there is no dog start; humidity, sun or a hot surface may stop starts earlier.

Responsibility continues after the start Anyone noticing a problem in themselves or their dog stops and reports to the nearest marshal. A DNF can be the responsible decision.

Timing

Your time. Never the dog's chip.

The timing chip is worn by the runner. A dog's microchip is for identity only and is never used for timing.

Whether public results are published, and in what form, will be decided before registration opens. Contact details, vaccination records, health information and dog microchip numbers will not be displayed publicly.

Do I have to enter with a dog?

No. Human Fun and Human Experience are dedicated formats without a dog.

Is the course wheelchair accessible?

A blanket promise cannot yet be made. A no-obstacle human wave is planned; surface, gradient, width and evacuation will be audited onsite. Please discuss individual requirements directly.

Can I transfer my entry?

Substitution and transfer rules will be published with online registration.

Is there camping at the circuit?

Camping at Salzburgring is not currently part of the event offer. If camping becomes available, all details will be published here.

Do I need an EU pet passport?

Dog starts are intended to require microchip identity, appropriate vaccination status and liability evidence. The final dog rules will explain which evidence is checked onsite.
