Participation information
The essential foundations.
This is the currently intended safety framework. It becomes binding after organizer, veterinary, insurance and venue approval and publication of the participation terms.
Ready to start
- Minimum age 15 months on event day.
- Microchip, vaccination status and liability evidence.
- No ill, lame, recently operated, heavily pregnant or nursing dogs.
- Mandatory vet check.
- The veterinarian has final authority over fitness to start.
- All dogs remain leashed throughout the venue.
Connected safely
- Suitable pulling harness for dog starts.
- Shock-absorbing line, approximately 1.5–2.5 m extended.
- Suitable running belt.
- No retractable, choke, prong or electronic collars.
- No line attached to the collar.
Respect on course
- Passing is announced and carried out with space.
- Instructions from marshals, medical and veterinary teams apply immediately.
- Never pull, pressure or force a dog.
- Bypasses may be used without time penalty.
- Unsafe or disrespectful conduct may end a start.
Camping & community
The Wild Dog Camp ticket turns your event entry into a shared weekend right at the event – comfortable, clean and at the heart of the WildDog Community.
- Camping from Friday to Sunday for €75.
- One camping pitch is valid for up to 4 people and up to 4 dogs.
- Tents, campers and campervans are welcome.
- The firm asphalt surface provides a level, weather-resistant pitch.
- Clean showers and well-maintained sanitary facilities are included.
- Dogs must remain leashed throughout the event grounds.
- Please be considerate of other guests and dogs and follow instructions from the event and venue teams.

Registration & tickets
How do I register for Wild Dog?
Registration is available exclusively online through the link on our website, which takes you directly to Race Result. You will receive a confirmation email once your registration has been completed successfully.
Can I cancel my registration?
Registration cannot generally be cancelled. If you become ill at short notice, please contact us. We will check whether another solution is possible in your individual case.
Can I transfer my ticket to another person?
Yes. You can transfer your ticket until the official registration deadline. Please contact us in good time so that we can update the details.
Can I change my course after registering?
If places are still available, you can change your course until the official registration deadline. Any price difference will be adjusted accordingly.
How long can I make changes?
Changes are possible until the official registration deadline. After that date, we cannot guarantee changes for organisational reasons.
Dogs & participation
Do I have to enter with a dog?
No. Human Fun and Human Experience are dedicated formats without a dog.
Which dogs may take part?
Healthy, social dogs may take part regardless of breed or size. Final clearance to start is given at the mandatory vet check.
Is there a minimum age for dogs?
Yes. Dogs must be at least 15 months old on event day. For longer courses, we recommend a minimum age of 18 months.
May bitches in season take part?
Yes. Please tell the veterinary team at the vet check. You may be assigned to a separate starting group if necessary.
Does my dog need to be vaccinated?
Yes. All participating dogs must be healthy and have the vaccination status required by law.
Which health documents should I bring?
Please bring your dog's vaccination record and the required evidence of microchip identity and liability insurance. The final dog rules will explain exactly which documents are checked onsite.
Which equipment is mandatory?
For dog starts, you need a well-fitting pulling or sports harness, a shock-absorbing line and a suitable running belt. The line must not be attached to a collar during the run; retractable leads, choke collars, prong collars and electronic collars are not allowed.
Can I enter with more than one dog?
No. Only one dog may be handled per run.
Are muzzles allowed?
Yes, provided your dog is comfortable, can breathe freely and can run safely while wearing it.
Event day
When should I arrive?
Allow enough time to collect your race pack and complete the mandatory vet check before your personal start time.
Where do I collect my race number?
You will receive your race pack and race number in the event area when checking in for the vet check.
Is there a veterinary check?
Yes. Every dog must complete a health check before starting. The veterinary team decides whether a dog is fit to start.
How will I receive my start time?
We will send your personal start time by email in good time before the event. It may also be published on our website.
What happens if I miss my start time?
Please report to race control immediately. A later start is only possible if it does not disrupt the event schedule.
Are changing rooms and showers available?
Yes. Changing rooms and showers are available at the venue.
Will food and drink be available?
Yes. Food and drink will be available for participants and visitors in the event area. Water for dogs will also be provided.
Courses & obstacles
How long is the course?
Depending on your category, you can choose between courses of 5 km, 2.2 km and 650 m.
How many obstacles will there be?
Each course features a range of natural and constructed obstacles. Detailed course information will be published before the event.
Do I have to complete every obstacle?
No. The safety of both human and dog always comes first. You may skip an obstacle if you cannot complete it safely as a team.
What if my dog does not want to complete an obstacle?
That is absolutely fine. Never force your dog. You can go around or skip the obstacle.
May I help my dog?
Yes. Support and encouragement are expressly allowed as long as your dog's welfare is protected.
Are there time limits?
No. Enjoy the event together – fun and a safe experience come first.
Safety
What happens in bad weather?
Wild Dog generally takes place in all weather conditions. If safety is at risk, we reserve the right to make changes, interrupt, postpone or cancel the event.
What happens during a thunderstorm?
Starts may be delayed or the event may be interrupted during a thunderstorm. The safety of all participants, visitors and animals has top priority.
Is veterinary support available onsite?
Yes. A veterinarian or trained veterinary professionals will be available during the event.
Is first aid available for participants?
Yes. A medical service will be onsite during the event.
Spectators
Are spectators welcome?
Yes. Spectators are very welcome.
Is there an admission fee for spectators?
No. Admission is free for spectators.
May spectators bring dogs?
Yes. Visiting dogs must remain on a lead throughout the venue. Please be considerate of participants, other visitors and dogs.
Is parking available?
Parking is planned close to the event grounds. We will publish the final travel, parking and access information in good time before the event.

Parking areas are planned at or close to the venue. Please check the final parking and access information on our website before travelling.
Is camping available?
Yes. The Wild Dog Camp ticket lets you camp right at the event from Friday to Sunday. One pitch covers up to 4 people and 4 dogs and can be used with a tent, camper or campervan. See the ticket page for full details.
Are motorhomes allowed?
Yes. Campers and campervans are welcome in Wild Dog Camp if you have booked the appropriate camp ticket.
Are electric hook-ups available?
We will confirm whether and to what extent electric hook-ups are available in the final camping information.
How do I find Salzburgring?
The venue address is Salzburgring 1, 5325 Plainfeld, Austria. Final travel, parking and access information will be available on our website in good time before the event.
Results & media
When will results be published?
Results will be published online after the event has finished.
Will photos and videos be taken?
Yes. Photos and videos will be recorded during the event. Details about their use will be published in the event information and privacy notice.
Where can I find my certificate?
Your certificate will be available to download online after the event.
